Fashion Guest Speaker - Ashleigh Graham

Donna and Beth from the Fashion Department invited a Personal Stylist as a guest speaker for the Fashion class session yesterday. Ashleigh Graham talked about her personal journey, her relationship with the female figures in her life - mom and grandmother, and how they have greatly shaped her childhood experiences with fashion and influenced her career choices later in life. Growing up in Perth, Ashleigh loved watching makeover shows on TV in the early 2000's and got her inspired to create ensembles of outfit for her mom. Later on in life, Ashleigh made a move to Christchurch, found a great fashion mentor and trained for a good three years. Her philosophy with styling is very much client focused and working with them to find the most suitable style. Ashleigh also highlighted the importance of doing speaking engagements and networking to help grow her business. Embracing digital platforms early was also one of the advice given by her mentor.
